Redneck family fun!

Jessica's family loves going shooting and it's also one of my newest hobbies. I promise that in the future I will make posts that have nothing to do with guns. =) We also took along some friends this time. We invited Dad and Dallin to come with us. It was Dallin's first time shooting "real" guns and Dad hadn't done it in a while. Tyson and Bethany Finlinson also came. So it was basically a party.
Jeff teaching Dallin how to shoot his .22. After this he tried the 9mm and was actually a really good shot. He hit the bulls-eye 3 times in a row about 20 yards out.

Dad taking a few shots with the 9mm.

Dallin taking some long-range shots with the AR-15. It's essentially a civilian M-16 without the 3 shot burst. It's a really fun gun to shoot.
Dad nailing targets about 60 yards out. We used cheap soda, so when you hit them they would explode. Dad was a good shot with this baby.

That's Jeff taking a few shots with Jerry's 12 gauge shotgun. He will neither confirm nor deny the actual hitting of clay pigeons. But he will say he had a lot of fun!

Ready, Set, Read!

Attention!

On the left, you will find a new feature down at the very, bottom-est bottom. It's called "Favorite Websites." And there is a single website listed: "General Conference Chart" (Hoot! Hoot!) Pops should have emailed you all with information on how to log into the website. Simply click the link, log in with the username and password he sent to you, and star-up the chart. Make sure you save the changes before you leave, though. Otherwise you'll spend all your time remarking all the talks you've already marked and never make any progress.

Our goal? Get all the talks read (including Priesthood and the General Relief Society Meeting) before the next General Conference.

Good Luck!

Christmas Gifts

Hey Kids,

Just wanted to let you know what's going down for Christmas this year. It's too hard to get together to pick names, so I've created a chart that we'll follow from now on. I was going to put the whole thing up here, but that takes time, talent, and html abilities (all of which I seriously lack). So, we'll take care of this Christmas and then maybe something cool and chart-like will appear after that.

Limit is about $25. Even though I'm not listing each person's name, the gift should include all members of the family (even the wee ones).

Seantylle and Dan - Dallin
Jeff and Jessica - S&D
Brandon and Brittany - J&J
Megan - B&B
Chelsey - Meg
Dallin - Chels

(You may have noticed that each person is getting a gift the person directly above them in the family order—one way to help you remember.)

Packin' Heat!

I want to contribute so we can get the blog off the ground! I just thought I'd let everyone know that yesterday I went to a class to get my concealed weapons permit. I'm stoked! I did it giving the excuse that one day I may need to defend my family (not likely, I know), but mostly for macho purposes. I don't yet own a gun that I can carry with me, but maybe in the next 5 years (hopefully before the permit expires!) I'll be able to afford one! ::ahem:: Christmas is coming up and I like glocks ::ahem::
I don't plan on concealing the gun shown to the left (though I would if I could find a big enough holster and a fashionable trench coat).
The class was actually really good and informative. It was all about gun safety and how to avoid using a gun even though you are carrying one.
I now feel like a real man.

A Boy and His Truck

Mom and Dad gave Graham this Mac truck for his birthday and he LOVES it.He wouldn't let Charlotte touch it for two weeks.

This is me trying to put it together. I felt like Dad on Christmas morning. "Is it done yet?"

Graham got impatient and started helping.

He loves this. He wanted to sleep with it. He is so cute!

There is one more picture on our blog.

Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the crazy Andersen family where experiences of life, love, and lunacy (all common occurrences in the Andersen family) will be shared, laughed over, and remembered. We invite everyone to share with us in our blogging adventures. But please, don't judge. We're just one crazy family lovin' life.
